Scholarship Application Instructions
All applications and supporting documents must be completed and postmarked by Friday, April 1, 2022.
Only 2022-2023 applications will be accepted.
Step One: Determine if you are eligible
You are eligible if you are a healthcare student who:
  1. Has a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a scale of 4.0.
  2. Is enrolled in or has been accepted to a college or university for the 2022-2023 academic year.
  3. Has a financial need.
  4. Plans to attend school in the state of Virginia.
  5. Has completed all prerequisite courses required for your degree.
  6. Maintains a permanent residence in one of the following counties: Albemarle, Alleghany, Amherst, Appomattox, Augusta, Bath, Bedford, Bland, Botetourt, Campbell, Carroll, Craig, Dickenson, Floyd, Franklin, Giles, Grayson, Halifax, Henry, Highland, Lee, Montgomery, Nelson, Patrick, Pittsylvania, Pulaski, Roanoke City & County, Rockbridge, Rockingham, Russell, Salem City, Scott, Smyth, Tazewell, Washington, Wise, Wythe.
  7. Is motivated to achieve your education and health career goals.
Step Two: Application process
  1. The application must be completed and submitted online.
  2. The attachments and other documents must be mailed to the Health Focus of SWVA P.O. Box listed on the application summary page or emailed to lgibbons@hfswva.org.
  3. Please review the list of required documents now, so you have ample time to make the appropriate requests for transcripts, etc. (Postmark deadline is April 1, 2022.)
  4. Your application processing fee can be paid through our website or by check.
